I thought since our Military is fighting for Peace what would bring them some Peace????? Then it came to me “A Piece of Home!!!! A CD of Pictures,  maybe favorite songs or a recording of a child’s first words. I colored Scruffie with copics and then glazed his uniform. Added the embellishments and a computer generated sentiment and he is all set to be sent to a favorite soldier.

The stamp I used in my project is by the talented Sue of Beary Dust Stamps. Her name is Ella and can be purchased at The Digital-Ink Co. for $2.00.  I fell in love with her charm and beauty right away! I colored her with copics and the sprinkled stickles here and there for sparkle. I added a couple of seed beads to her flowers in her hair and also used them as her earings.  I complimented those with a pin full of pearls also colored with my copics.  To make the ruffle around the image I first punched with my MS punch and then ran it through my crimper and worked it around the oval.   I liked how it turned out. Added the bow and a paper doily and she was ready to WISH her girlfriend a Happy Valentine's Day! That is my Wish also!
Happy Valentine's To All My Girlfriend's!!!

Let Them Eat Jam!!!

The New Design Team with a new DT coordinator Harriet Hensley (a wonderful designer) at The Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog  has been biting at the bit and is raring to go. This is the first challenge of the new year with the brand spankin' new Design Team.  They are all listed at my side bar so please visit all of there blogs and give them some well deserved praise!

For our first challenge the guidelines are "Pet and Babies Birthdays" we had to make a creation and use the 4 primary colors somewhere in our project along with one neutral color. When I found out I was assigned to Stitchy Stamps I was so excited because I had seen this adorable stamp and had an idea in my mind of what I could do with it so off I went. This stamp is called Jammin and normally sells for $3.00 but during the month of January it is on sale for $2.25 at the Digital-Ink Co. Store. I colored my little guy in with copics and the made my sentiment on my computer. I crossed off the cake so it changed to "Let Them Eat Jam" I then took stickles and added them to wherever the jam was on the image and a couple of finger prints on both sentiments. This card is a shadowbox frame and the tute can be found here. I chalked the edges of the frame a bit to give it depth and glazed a few parts of the image to make them shine.

Do you like the touch of my spoonful of jam?  I just couldn't resist and it is the best jam around. Here is a close up of the wonderful digi! He kind of reminds me of my Grandson when he was little. All dressed up in his sailor suit just like his Dady's uniform. Just not quite as pudgy!!!!

We have a wonderful prize package for this challenge. The great people at Paper Wishes by Hot Off The Press (http://www.paperwishes.com/) are our sponsors along with the creators of the wonderful DIGITAL-Ink Co. making the prize package's value over $75.00 in prizes. WOW!!!! I wish I could enter!!!!!!! We always love to see when Digital-ink Co. stamps are used in our challenges, so if you use one of our stamps, you’ll automatically be entered into the drawing twice!! Is that not cool?

Now get your paper, pens, copics, pencils, scissor, crayons or whatever you might use and show us what you got. Here is the link Digital-Ink Co Challenge Blog. As you can see there are some fabulous prizes to be won, and to qualify for these prizes, you must post the image of the prizes on your blog/website with a link to our blog, be a follower (if you are not already), and of course sign the “Mister Linky”, so that we can stop by and leave you lots of love. Masquerade!

Here is a sweet thing that will be available from Lil Diva Stamps on Wednesday! It will be unvailed along with all of the other new creations from all of the creators at The Digital-Ink Co.'s Thank God It's Wednesday! All new releases for the store are showcased on Wednesday every week and I am certain you will find many you will love just like our beauty!

I used a sketch from Friday Sketchers to Kreate my layout.  I thought it was great until I chose my paper. Big mistake!!!! It is a tissue paper that I had and loved but the hardest thing to work with and even harder to photograph! My sweet girl was colored with copics and then given a bit of stickles to make her sparkle. I added a few flowers, bows and a stick pin with pearls and she is ready for the Masque!

Remember this lovely lady by Lil Diva Stamps and all of the new creations will be released on Wednesday the 27th at the Digital-Ink Co. Also join us for the first challenge of the year starting tomorrow at the Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog.  The Design Team has really outdone themselves with some great inspiration just for you! Hope to see you there!

You Funny Rat!!!

To celebrate Global Belly Laugh Day on January 24th, Stitchy one of the Creators at the Digital - Ink Co. is holding a  funny sentiment challenge at the Digital-Ink Co's SRN Group. Everyone who wanted to play got this adorable little Rat and had to make a creation with him and a funny sentiment.  Well it took me a while to decide what I wanted to say on mine and then I remembered a joke that I thought was funny.  A woman kept praying over and over to win the lottery. She was losing everything in her life, her job, her house, her whole life and finally God says to her " meet me half way, buy a ticket". So this is where my inspiration came from. So you say I have to buy a ticket to win.  Well it was funny to me anyway.  I hope it gave you a chuckle. If nothing else the Rat is funny!

I of course colored him with copics and used that little trick again with a piece of cotton towel and the colorless blender to give his fur texture. Glazed his tail and nose, added a few buttons and a bow and walah!!!

Heart and Key!

Ok I have never entered a challenge at Split Coast Stampers even though I have been a member since I started blogging but when Angela from Sew Many Cards was hosting a sketch there this week I decided to give it a try.  Now if you know me I can not just enter ONE challenge so at the end of this post you will see the others that I have entered with this card also.  The sketch is # 264 and can be found here.

I used one of Angela's digi's on this card. You can find them at the Digital-Ink Co. Store. This one happened to be a freebie that was given out! Angela gives one out every Friday on the Sew Many Challenge Blog. I decided to paper piece my image together. Not a copic in sight! Remind me never to paper piece with this glitter paper again. I thought my eyes were bad before!!!!! Even with my glasses I was having a hard time seeing the lines to cut!  I then made paper lace that I found on Norma's blog. You can find the tutorial right HERE. I wove my ribbon through it to give it a homey look and ended with a couple of silver heart buttons to match the paper and image.

Just click HERE and it will take you to her store at the Digital-Ink Co. I am certain you will not just find one you love but have a hard time picking and end up taking home a few!!!!

Now I could'nt resist dressing my gal up in her finest, so after coloring her up with chalk and copics. I added some liquid pearls to her necklace and of course some lovely feathers and a flower to her millinery! She was then pop dotted and placed on a piece of embossed card stock. I stuck by my standards and added a bit of stickles to give her that little bit of bling. You just don't have that Zing if you don't have your Bling!!  I think Coco Chanel would be proud of her look!

Sew Many Cards - Anything Goes Challenge

It is the first challenge at our new site and the new year with our new DT team and this weeks sponsor is STAMPS ALIVE!!

Terri is offering a Cuttlebug Combo Embossing Folder called Damask ($15 value) to the winner of the challenge!

The theme of this weeks challenge is ANYTHING GOES!!!!!

I had a hard time deciding just how I wanted to make my card since I chose to make it with DONKEY!

He or in my case I made it a she is just too darn cute!!!! I decided to make two cards.

The first one the sentiment states" WHEW GLAD THAT YEAR'S BEHIND ME"

The second one the sentiment reads " DOES THIS DRESS MAKE MY BUTT LOOK BIG?"

I just couldn't make up my mind so I decided to showcase them both ways. Maybe you can tell me which way you like best when you comment!  I colored Donkey which can be found at Sew Many Cards with my copics and then put a bit of glitter on her patches.  I also glazed her big eyes.  After that I dressed her up with a tule tu tu and matching hair bow!  I used my new quick cutz embossing folder for her background.  I followed a sketch found at Papertake Weekly for the layout.
Don't you think she looks just marvy????

Don't forget we have a new home for our challenges, you can find us by just clicking on my link right here - SEW MANY CARDS CHALLENGE BLOG and while you are there you can pick up your new FREE digi given away every Friday!!!

Digital-Ink Co Challenge

Hello Friends!  It is time for another challenge at Digital-Ink Co. and we are celebrating New Beginings! With this challenge this will be the end of the 2009 Design Team and we will have a New Beginning here too. On 1/5/2010 a new team will start there duties and the next challenge will not start until 1/25/10.  This will give them time to acclimate and get the most exciting and wonderful creations ready for you!  I have a few digi images this week to share with you and am I excited!!!!! First off I have the lovely Lil Diva digi stamp called Bella Ballerina normally priced at $2.50 but available until the end of the month at half price. She is dancing through time and into 2010.

I made a side step card for this one and you can get the tutorial here. I colored the image with copics and used some stickles to make her tutu sparkle! The background paper was a glittery silver so I wanted to keep everything else pretty simple and clean.  I think she is a charmer!

My second digi stamp from Digital-Ink Co. this week is from the Super Stitchy Stamps called Bucky Bronco. This sweet image is available until the end of the month again at 50% off, at the price of $1.50.

This time I decided to make a spring card. You can find the tutorial right here. This was a pleasure to create. I decided to make the Bronco able to kick with a touch of your finger so I put  him on a brad and put it between the two peices of card stock.  By touching the image you can move him up and down to give a kick. This way he really is kickin' up a celebration!  By just removing the 2010 this could be used for any type of celebration!  I think he is a hoot and realy liked how he turned out!

The last image I used this week from Digital-Ink Co. is from the marvelous M & M Designz. Do you know that stands for Mom and Me.  Isn't that a wonderful sentiment.  The digi stamp I was honored to work with was Vintage Hat & Girl. Once again normally priced at $3.00 but until the end of the month can be purchased at $1.50.  This image is beautiful and made me think about remembering our past as we look forward to our future.

On this creation I tried to make it look very old to stay with the feel of the image.  I used pale gold DP and stamped a background of a letter on the front.  I used copics and chalk to color the girl. I then took some flowers and feathers to adorne her stunning millery. I distressed the edges with gold and walnut ink. The sentiment was made on my computer. I made this one a Tri-shutter card and the tutorial can be found here. To fill the spaces inside the card I stamped some small images of old antiques. Please forgive the picture. The chair I took the picture of the open card on, has a slant so the card looks like it is crooked. I guarantee it is straight!

I think she turned out just lovely! Very refined and elegant!

Now it is your turn to hop on over to Digital-Ink Co. Challenge blog, for a chance to win the prizes,

link your creation with Mr. Linky and show us what you got! This challenge will run for one week instead of the normal two week. I know it will be MARVELOUS!!!!!!!

My new beginning resolution this coming year is to " Have more patience with everyone" as I have grown older I have realized that I have grown more cynical at times. I also need to apreciat what I have been given in the past before always looking to the future. I need to correct that and also loose about 50 lbs. Make certain you check out the other KREATIVE  Design Team Members creations. Their blogs are linked on the side of my blog!

Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Holiday Frenzy!!!

Our challenge for this time around was to create a tag, card, gift bag, box or anything else we might make as a last minute gift of course using one of the images from one of the marvelous talented designers at The Digital-Ink Co.  My choice was Tonz of Fun image designed by Stamp'en with CJ.  Isn't she adorable.  All the digi's are on sale right now at 50% off so she is available for $1.13.  What a deal! She could be used for many occasions.

I decided to make a last minute gift of a luminary for my Holiday Frenzy. You can get the tute here.  I adjusted the size to fit my image. I ended up using a complete piece of 12 X 12" cardstock. I placed vellum in the ovals.

I colored Ethyl, I named my elephant Ethyl, with chalk and highlighted her with copics.  The image has these little feathery hairs on her head so I went with that as inspiration and used both pink and black feathers on her head and as a background. Topped that off with a bright pink bow. I also added a few pink crystal gems to make her dazzle and give her some bling.

She got a pedi and mani with some cotton candy stickles to match the cording on her dress. The last thing was to wrap the top with matching pink ribbon and add a couple of pink crystal flowers.

Ethyl was added to opposite sides of the luminary so she can be seen from every angle.  Since this is a paper product I bought one of the new Glade no light candles and put it inside.

((((((DO NOT PUT A LIT CANDLE INSIDE))))))))

I hope I inspired you to Kreate and join the challenge! It starts today December 14th and ends December 26th. Pop on over to Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog and let your inner artist imerge!

There will be prizes worth over $50.00 to be given.
Doesn't that sound GREAT?

Unconventional Christmas Card - I Think!!!!

When I think of Christmas I normally do not think of farm tractors but, yes there is always a but!!!!! My brother in law is a farmer and works so very hard to make certain that there is food on the tables of so many people just like so many other farmers in this country!!! I some times think we take these men and women for granted and when I saw this image it just screamed out to me that I had to make a card for my in-laws and use it.  The image is from Stamping Dragon Designz and you can get them at the Digital-Ink Co.. All of there stamps for the month of December are half off.  What a deal!!!!!!! Anyway getting back to the design of the card.  Living in Wisconsin and knowing what kind of machinery my BIL uses I had to make this tractor a John Deere. The John Deere plant is about 1 hour from my house and you can not go past a farm around here with out seeing one in use.  I wanted to make the card look like the tractor was sitting out in the field with a bit of snow on it so the stickles came out and also some glaze to shine up some parts.  I think they will be jazzed by the end result!!!!

Off to get some work done!!! Thanks for looking!

Pillow Box Gift Card Holder

I made this little pillow box to put a gift card in for my niece for Christmas.  I did not want to make it green and red, have been burnt out with those colors so I decided to go with one of my favorite combo's for winter or Christmas and do the blue's.  Of course my next thought was what image so I then remembered this cute little digi from Digi Kitty at the Digital-Ink Co..  All of their images are on sale right now at half price. So 1, 2, 3 and my project was done.  I think it turned out pretty cute!!!!

Challenges

Enjoy!!!
