Well Behaved Women........

Hello and welcome to another week of wonder from the Digi Doodle Shop's Best! This week we are challenging everyone to use RIBBON on their project! Easy Peasy!!! Use it in any application that you please as long as we can see it somewhere on your KREATION!!!!

All of the girls on the DT have been working so dang hard to give you inspiration to help you out so hop on over and take a look at what they did and then leave them a little lovin! We also have 2 Guest DT's this month to spice things up a bit!

The winner this week will get to choose 3 digi's from our gracious sponsor

You can find them right here. Thank you so much we appreciate your sponsorship!

I used the 1920's vintage girl for my project this week and when you pick her up at The Digi Doodle Shop she comes with a sister from the 1900's.  You can see her on the challenge blog on my sister DT Coordinator's Harriet's wondrous card called "The Perfect Dress". I searched high and low for some clip art to accompany my girl and finally found a copy of a vintage ad for Loreal and decided it was perfect. It too was actually from 1920. I spritzed it with some gold home made glimmer mist and gave it some shine.  I colored my girl with copics and her bracelet, bodice of her dress and center of the flower in her hat are all micro mini beads.  Glossy accents hit her red pattent pumps and those firey red nails. I used some bright pink chalk to rouge up her cheeks and a fine red pen to give her fire engine red lips. To finish everything off I tied a large organza bow around my card and made two hat pins with beads colored with copics to match my color scheme.  The sentiment reads " WELL BEHAVED WOMEN RARELY MAKE HISTORY!"  These women changed history and started the long path to give us modern women what we have now. They are truly home to me. I thank them for not being well behaved!

So please hop on over and join in on this easy peasy challenge! Also do not forget to see what has been added to The Digi Doodle Shop.  Judy and her Mom have been working hard and have added new stamps certain to please again this week.

Prosperity, Happiness and Longevity .........

I am taking a clue from one of my blogging buddies Georgia and I am going to challenge myself!  I have bins of stamps that I have not looked at in eons.  My challenge to myself is to make a card each week with one of my FORGOTTEN stamps.  This week my stamps used were from Art Accents for my main image and Hero Arts for my Asian Writing.

Believe it or not the only coloring I did on this whole card is a tiny bit on the palms behind her head!!! No, no I am not ill and I do not have a fever! I just had a few tricks I wanted to give a try. After the bit of coloring with my copics I dusted a bit of pink chalk on her cheeks and Pearl Ex Pigments here and there across my image. Ever so lightly. I then stamped the entire image with Versa Mark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I was soooooo excited to have a heat gun again, I had to play with embossing. Did I tell you I lost mine in our move (4 years ago)..... finally bought a new one!!!!! Anyway I really like the effect it gave me.  I also embossed the Asian writing on the side.  The three words that I used as my title are what it says.  I also used a stamp with asian writing on a piece of shrink plastic and made a charm.  My heat gun was in overdrive on this one.  The background paper behind my main image was stamped with a tiny palm stamp that I do not have the name of. A bit of raffia finished the whole thing off.

I truly enjoyed making this one and using a few of my FORGOTTON stamps. I hope you like it too.

Blessed Indeed Is The Man.........

I have said it over and over again that images and stamps talk to me.  Well I had picked out one stamp that I was going to use for this week's challenge but then while browsing through The Digi Doodle Shop's wondrous stamps this one yelled out to me.  I have said I would start making some male oriented cards and I think this one fits the bill.  The name is Old Corn Storage Bin and is a mere $1.50.

The Challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best  is an EZ one.
ANYTHING GOES!!!
We are also being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps who are giving the winner a $15.00 gift certificate.  So what are you waiting for!!! Anything you make will fit.

I colored my image with copics and I swear it was like I used every brown I had and blended like crazy. To give my shed an old look I finished it off with W3 a warm grey. Since I had sooooooooo much brown in my picture I chose to make my tree a old birch. I hope it looks like one. Chalk gave me my sky and grass.  A bit of stickles and and just a hint of glossy accents finished off the image.  The sentiment was computer generated and reads" Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!" I thought the sentiment had a soft and faithful feeling that fit well with the old Storage Shed! To finish my card I tied a bit of raffia on and as a homage to my dear friend Harriet I added three buttons. I figured a Father would be bursting his buttons with pride!

So come on over and show us what you've got. Remember ANYTHING GOES!!!

Bluebird of Happiness???

I do not know that much about birds but when I showed my hubby the pic of the bird I found on the net he said it was a bluebird so I am calling this my Bluebird of Happiness!!!

This week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best we are having a color challenge an we have to use 3 colors in our project. Can you take a guess what ones they are??? Blue,  Yellow and Green .

I chose to use Mother Bird and Babies for my stamp and can be picked up at The Digi Doodle Shop! Judy and her Mom are adding new stamps each week.  Just take a look, you will be certain to find a few to tickle your fancy!

I wanted to give my project a 3 dimensional look so I used some spanish moss for the nest and a few twigs for the branches.  I colored with copics with the following colors: YG03, YG09, E13, Y11, Y15, Y26, Y21, C3, C5, B12, B21, B24, B91, E25.  A few stickles were added to give some sparkle.  I then added a punch by MS and a ribbon and a few feathers that must have fallen from my bird!

So I hope to see you all over at the challenge where you can find all of the details and while you are there check out all of the other DT's work.  You will be blown away!!!

Springtime Birthday Sweet Pea!

OK they got me hook, line and sinker!!!! I just adore these images.  As many of you know one of my favorite things to do is color!  I tend to say I never quite outgrew my box of crayons, they just cost more now!!!  Well the Sweet Pea images just lend themselves to people who enjoy coloring!!!!

This one is I believe is called "It's My Birthday" Can you see the birthday cupcake in her hand? I couldn't decide what view to show you so you are going to get them all.

Just the fact that most of the images are fairies. As you know I have a thing for anything that has wings. The green circles are suppose to mimic the scales on her tail. I know that she is not a spring card but with her butterfly wings and the bright colors she looks pretty springy to me. One more view for you!!!

I colored this beauty with my copics and unfortunately I forgot in my excitement to write down the colors. Let me tell you I used a whole bunch of pinks, purples, greens and aqua's!  To shadow her skin I used my W1 which I find I am really liking. What do you all think?  I used my cricut cartridge "home accents" to cut the corners and butterflies, the middle punch was MS double loop.  I used liquid pearls on all the dots on the image and on the corners for dimension.  Stickles all over the place. I wanted her to sparkle!!!!! I also put glossy accents on the glow behind her candle before I stickled it. A few gems here and there and she was ready for her debut!

Finally!!!

I finally took the plunge and inked up my Sweet Pea stamps that I have had for a while now and colored one in.  As many of you know from past posts I have admired the work of Randi (The Dark Mermaid) for quite some time now. She is one of the most talented people I have met on my blog traveling and she has turned me on to this wonderful line of stamps.  I will not bore you with a long story but I have had them now for a while and every day just look at them and they look right back at me with there intimidating eyes! Well today I overcame my fear and jumped in the water so you might say!!!!

The stamp I used is called Time Flies.  Since she has butterfly wings I also colored up a couple of friends for her too.  They are from Hero Arts.  The tree branch and flowers were cut on my cricut with the cartridge Home Accents. I wanted to give this card depth so it has quite a few layers. The background was done with chalks. This card reminds me so of the begining of spring when the flowers start to bloom and the buterflies are out fluttering around. I hope it brings you the same feeling!

I colored with copics: I am going to try to start listing the colors I used for you!
Skin: E00, E02, W1
Hair: 100, C3, C5, C7
The rest of her and the butterflies: R27,R22, R29, Y15, YR07, YR04, RV19, B28, G07, YG03, B00, YG09 & B12
Stickles: Yellow, Eucalyptus, Frosted Lace
Liquid Pearls - White Opal

Gift Card Holder For My Nephew

My hubby and I have a neice and nephew that we see at Christmas and we give gift cards to. Now I posted a few back the pillow box that I made for my niece and I had to come up with something for my nephew too. He is still little and believes so I thought that the image of Santa that my friend Lisa Cook gave me from the Magnolia stamps would be perfect.  While I was at it I figured I would enter this little guy into a few challenges.  I will get to listing them later.

Since this will probably be the last Christmas project I make I made a large Christmas bulb on my cricut and put Santa on it like a tag.  I made two of these so I can enter it seperately into another challenge.I colored Santa with my copics and made his presents in his sack all different colors.  I didn't want to glitz it up too much but I couldn't resist giving some sparkle with some stickles on the presents and in his beard.  The fur on his sleaves and cap is flocked to appear real and fuzzy and his boots, belt buckle and ribbons on the presents got a coat of crytal effects.  I took my good old gel pen and colored the top of the ornament. A bit of ribbon to tie the holder together and at the top of the ornament and he was done.
