Prosperity, Happiness and Longevity .........

I am taking a clue from one of my blogging buddies Georgia and I am going to challenge myself!  I have bins of stamps that I have not looked at in eons.  My challenge to myself is to make a card each week with one of my FORGOTTEN stamps.  This week my stamps used were from Art Accents for my main image and Hero Arts for my Asian Writing.

Believe it or not the only coloring I did on this whole card is a tiny bit on the palms behind her head!!! No, no I am not ill and I do not have a fever! I just had a few tricks I wanted to give a try. After the bit of coloring with my copics I dusted a bit of pink chalk on her cheeks and Pearl Ex Pigments here and there across my image. Ever so lightly. I then stamped the entire image with Versa Mark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I was soooooo excited to have a heat gun again, I had to play with embossing. Did I tell you I lost mine in our move (4 years ago)..... finally bought a new one!!!!! Anyway I really like the effect it gave me.  I also embossed the Asian writing on the side.  The three words that I used as my title are what it says.  I also used a stamp with asian writing on a piece of shrink plastic and made a charm.  My heat gun was in overdrive on this one.  The background paper behind my main image was stamped with a tiny palm stamp that I do not have the name of. A bit of raffia finished the whole thing off.

I truly enjoyed making this one and using a few of my FORGOTTON stamps. I hope you like it too.

Blessed Indeed Is The Man.........

I have said it over and over again that images and stamps talk to me.  Well I had picked out one stamp that I was going to use for this week's challenge but then while browsing through The Digi Doodle Shop's wondrous stamps this one yelled out to me.  I have said I would start making some male oriented cards and I think this one fits the bill.  The name is Old Corn Storage Bin and is a mere $1.50.

The Challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best  is an EZ one.
ANYTHING GOES!!!
We are also being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps who are giving the winner a $15.00 gift certificate.  So what are you waiting for!!! Anything you make will fit.

I colored my image with copics and I swear it was like I used every brown I had and blended like crazy. To give my shed an old look I finished it off with W3 a warm grey. Since I had sooooooooo much brown in my picture I chose to make my tree a old birch. I hope it looks like one. Chalk gave me my sky and grass.  A bit of stickles and and just a hint of glossy accents finished off the image.  The sentiment was computer generated and reads" Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!" I thought the sentiment had a soft and faithful feeling that fit well with the old Storage Shed! To finish my card I tied a bit of raffia on and as a homage to my dear friend Harriet I added three buttons. I figured a Father would be bursting his buttons with pride!

So come on over and show us what you've got. Remember ANYTHING GOES!!!

Soap Star.....

Hello everyone and welcome to a wonderful Wednesday on my blog so that means SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY and we have another yummy one for you to follow.

This week our sponsor is Busy Beauties Boutique and do they have some wonderful images. The winner will get 3 images of their choice.

I chose this wonderful beauty and colored her with my copics and then glued a few dew drops in to add dimension to her bubbles.  Stickles give her some sparkle and my signature chalked background.  I used a soft pink lace around my image and added a wonderful satin ribbon.

I hope you join us and give the sketch a try. I know it will be scrumptious!!!!

Marina Goddess of The Sea.....

Hello everyone! Ok this is NOT a fairy but a mermaid. Marina is the Goddess of the Sea and daughter of Poseidon. I thought this wondrous stamp by Sweet Pea ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection was fitting to be called Marina at least in my mind.

I colored her with my copics and then took the finest gold glitter and glued it to parts of the image. The background is done with chalk as is most of mine.  The starfish, sea shells, sea horse and vines are all cut out on my cricut. The swirls in the corners were made with a paper shapers punch.  I did not quite have the right color gems to match so I colored clear ones with my copics and added those too.  The mesh in the background is the left over part of the material after sequins have been cut out. My friend Randi turned me on to this and it just adds that special touch. Thanks a bunch Randi!

I truly enjoy coloring these stamps and hope you enjoy my little piece of art as much as I do!

Lady Bug......

Many of you know I have twin daughters and when they were little girls I had always called them my little lady bugs.  Now that they are adults they give me little things here and there to remind me that no matter how old they get that has not changed.  I passed that name on to my granddaughters now so I guess when I saw this stamp I knew I just had to use it.

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring the challenge this week at Cupcake Craft Challenge and the theme is Don't Be Square!  So I made my round card to fit the bill!

I chose as I said, Audrey with ladybugs and colored her with copics. Added some stickles a checked bow, a ladybug button and a few pearls. My DP is by the Paper Company and has the cutest glittery bugs on it too.

So Don't Be Square and come on over and join me in this fun challenge and the chance to win 5 digi's or 3 rubber stamps from The Stamping Boutique.

Wonderland - a marvelous imaginary realm.....

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Wonderland to go to whenever life gets tough?  I was pondering that thought as I created this project for my Fabulous Friday Challenge at PCP i{heart}copics.  Now I have not read nor seen the movies Alice in Wonderland. Waiting for it to come out on DVD but my imagination has run wild with color while creating.

This week we are using a recipe for our challenge - now if you ask my husband he will tell you I am not very good with recipe's since I can NOT cook but this kind I can follow.

2 patterned papers
3 colored embellishments (with copics) - brads, ribbons, flowers, gems, chipboard
your image (any of your choice)

I chose a Sweet Pea image from the ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection called Mad Tea Party. I colored Alice and the March Hare in with my copics. You can get your copics like I do at i{heart}papers. Kate has all the colors at great prices.  She even has the new copic paper.  I added a few stickles to give some sparkle. A feather in Alice's cap and some white highlights from my white gel pen.  The DP papers I used are from Basic Grey and do you know Kate also sells Basic Grey too?  You just have to check out all the items available.  Now I suppose you want to know about the embellishments.  All 3 of my buttons started out as white buttons with a silver center.  I took my R29, B29 and FV2 and colored them to match my image.  I didn't stop there, I wanted a hat pin too so I started coloring pearls in the same colors to match.  You would be amazed with all of the things you can color with your copics! I printed the definition of wonderland from the dictionary on my computer and used it as my sentiment and my project was complete.

Now it is your turn to join us at the PCP group i{heart}copics cuz we know you do and show us what you come up with to color!

Bluebird of Happiness???

I do not know that much about birds but when I showed my hubby the pic of the bird I found on the net he said it was a bluebird so I am calling this my Bluebird of Happiness!!!

This week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best we are having a color challenge an we have to use 3 colors in our project. Can you take a guess what ones they are??? Blue,  Yellow and Green .

I chose to use Mother Bird and Babies for my stamp and can be picked up at The Digi Doodle Shop! Judy and her Mom are adding new stamps each week.  Just take a look, you will be certain to find a few to tickle your fancy!

I wanted to give my project a 3 dimensional look so I used some spanish moss for the nest and a few twigs for the branches.  I colored with copics with the following colors: YG03, YG09, E13, Y11, Y15, Y26, Y21, C3, C5, B12, B21, B24, B91, E25.  A few stickles were added to give some sparkle.  I then added a punch by MS and a ribbon and a few feathers that must have fallen from my bird!

So I hope to see you all over at the challenge where you can find all of the details and while you are there check out all of the other DT's work.  You will be blown away!!!

The Fairy In Me....

I may not be a little girl anymore but I surely belive that a fairy still lives in my heart!!!! I was telling a friend of mine that soon people will get sick of seeing all the fairies on my blog but I just love them.
It is Wednesday so that means another SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY!  Once again our very own Arlana has whipped us up a scrumptious sketch to follow.

We are also so very lucky to have Sally Ann once again sponsor us with an offer of 10 free Digi stamps from The Digi Stamp Boutique for our winner.

For my take on our scrumpdillious sketch I chose to use this week Evie and the Toadstool!

I had soooooo much fun with her. I used so many mediums.  Her toadstool base has fun flock on it to make it fuzzy and the spots have flower soft to give dimension. I paper pieced her dress and highlighted the edges with chalk. Her wings, crown and wand are glittered with fine grain glitter. On the tips of her crown I have glued 3 tiny little gem stones.  Last but not least her head is cut out twice and also popped up for a 3-D look. Her background was made with my fave chalk and  I of course colored the rest with my copics. The flowers were also made with a Stampin' up punch , buttons served as centers and frond with a MS punch.  My larger circle was embossed with a cuttlebug folder called spots and dots. The long punch with my ribbon wove through was also a MS.

I hope you all hop on over to SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY and take your try at the sketch and while you are there take a look at all the inspiration by the other girls on the DT.  We are also welcoming 2 new members to our team Jenny and Heather so give them a shout and show them some love.

To Many More, My Sweet Pea....

To celebrate the one year anniversary or one year birthday, which ever you prefer, Sweet Pea Stamps is having a Customer Blog Hop!!!! Now you know my love, no lust for these magnificent stamps so of course I had to get in on the celebration!!!!  They certainly have become my exilleration, relaxation, and passion.  It is amazing I can spend hours under my magnifying lamp coloring and shut everything else out.

I used my newest stamp from the ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection called Carnation of May. For the blog hop you had to make a Birthday or Anniversary card. I chose to make a Birthday but I think I will also use this stamp for Mother's Day!

I colored my mermaids with my copics and I am sorry but I lost track of my colors. As usual I chalked my background. People ask me how I keep the chalk from coming off and the answer is HAIRSPRAY!!! After I am done with the coloring I give a light mist of hairspray and that keeps the chalk from rubbing off.  Of course these images scream for sparkle so stickles are added. I did not have the correct color of flowers to match my colored image so I took my copics and colored those too. Even though in the picture they look a bit darker, they in real life are the same shade as in my image.  A MS punch and a bow made on my bow EZ finished the look.  The sentiment computer generated reads " the best birthdays of all are those that have not arrived yet".

Once again Lynette and Sweet Pea Stamps, Happy Birthday/Anniversary and many many more!!!!!!

Cock-A-Doodle-Do ......I Did It !

As many of you know if you are my true followers I was in a contest on my Design Team for  The Stamping Boutique for our One Stop Blog Hop!!! Well I wanted to first thank each and every one of you that hopped over and participated!  Even if you did not end up voting for my project I appreciate the fact that you took your precious time and played.  I also want to say a very, very, special thank you to all of you that knew my love for chalk so figured out my background and my true passion to put feathers on any little bird I can find so knew when they saw this little chicks with tail feathers that this was mine.  Many also knew this was mine because of all the details and I was happy to be known for this.

Anyway with out all of you, my friends, my followers I could not say right now with great pride!!!

I WON!!!!

In case you did not know what image I had been given to work with here it is! My image was the little chick.  At first my mind was a blank on what I was to do with it but then th wheels started turning and I started drawing!

Each DT was given one of the farm images and we had to create a project to feature that image.  I first of all decided on an easel card.  I then cut all of my barn boards and chalked the edges to give them depth and pieced my barn together. A computer generated sentiment and chicken coop sign was hung. I made my fences and placed them to come out from my barn.  Glued on all my pieces of hay and made my little feed bag. After that I painfully glued the feathers on all those tiny little bums of my chicks.  Put them on folding stands and placed them on my card as if some where pecking the feed off the ground.  A sun and cloud in my chalked sky and it was ready. My whole card is made to fold and fit in a 6 x 6 envelope.

Once again I have to say I could not have done this with out YOU ALL and for this I am most gratefull!!!! Thank you!

Mr. T Diddle Got A Friend.......

Mr. T. Diddle got a friend!!!! Now I bet you wonder why I named my post that??????? Well the name of this marvelous image from the Digi Doodle Shop is the brand new Mr. T. Diddle who is part of the Dodiddle Bunch.  Well after seeing that I picked the same dang cute image as others on my DT,  I decided to give him a mini makeover as my 7 year old grandaughter calls it and make a friend for him.  Ladies and Gentlemen it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you
Ms. T Diddle!!!

Isn't she just gorjuss????? I of course had to give her some designer clothes so she got a paper pieced shell with some stickles to give her some sparkle and she just got back from the spa wher she got a mani and pedi. Luv the brand new shiny red nails!!!! On top of that she got some light green shadow and of course her cheeks got a rosy glow of blush!!!! I colored her with copics and only used 6 of them.  I think it is a record for me - C1, C3, YG95, YG97, YG99, YG03. The flowers were made with a Stampin' Up punch and MS frond punch.  The sentiment was computer generated and reads " Be good and if you can't be good be stylish"  Now she is all ready for her Spring Time date with Mr. T Diddle.  She thinks he is just dreamy...........

This was all created for the challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best and we are asking you to follow a simple sketch and follow the Spring Time theme.

Easy Peasy!!!! All the details are on the blog and of course you can see all the other Design Teams SKETCHY inspiration!  They will just blow your socks off!  Judy and her mom have been drawing at record speed to keep the shop in new and exciting stamps so please make sure you take a look at what has all been added!  Just like Ms. T Diddle! Hatter Madness....

Welcome to another wondrous Wednesday. That means SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY!
We have another yummy sketch provided by our very own Arlana to help wet your appetite for some confectionary delights.

Our sponsor this week is Heather at Fresh Brewed Designs.

The winner will get $15.00 in Digi images.  You need to check it out, Heather has all kinds of fun images to pick from.

I chose Hatter Madness for my project.  As soon as I got the chance to visit Heather's store I new at once I wanted to color him. I used my copics and then stickles here and there. I wanted to use one of my favorite mediums which is feathers so I glued them onto the swan around his neck. His eyes and his pocket watch got a coating of glossy accents.  I distressed the circles and then used my feathers again as an accent with a few gems.  I hope you like the way it turned out as much as I did. Does he look at all like Johnny Depp???

Now won't you join all of us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and give the sketch a try.  While you are linkling up your entry take a look at all the cards the rest of the Design Team has put together as inspiration. You will be awe struck!!!!

Joy......

Hello again for another Fabulous Friday Challenge at the PCP group i{heart}copics!!!  This week we have a color challenge for you all.  Now if you do not have the exact copic colors you can always use something close to the colors.  We do not expect you to run out and buy them but you can order at a great price from i{heart}papers.  The three colors for this weeks challenge are - B91 (Pale Grayish Blue) BG15 (Aqua) and Y21(Buttercup Yellow)

I wanted to try something a bit different on this project so I did a newspaper color wash that I found on a tutorial on my friend Randi's blog and you can find right HERE. You take your paper and saturate it with W0 - W3 before you color with your copics.  A very light touch is used.  I love the way it gives a watercolor effect with copics.
The colors I used on this project were: BG11, BG15, B91, Y21, Y26, E33, E00, E02, E33, E25, W1, W3.
The stamp is from Stampin' Up. I do not know the name of the set.  I cut the frame with my sizzix and added some pearls and stickles.  A flower from Prima and the matching sentiment.  One last little embellishment added was a tiny Hero Arts butterfly. I am kinda diggin them right now.

After waking up to snow this morning this card kinda took me back to my favorite place in the world. No other place I would rather be, on the beach under the sun, in front of the ocean kissing the sand and I felt a bit better!!! If only!!!!

I hope you all join us for the challenge or if you have any questions or just want to chat you can always find someone at PCP i{heart}copics.
