Lil Diva Stamps

As many of you know I have been honored to be a DT for Donna at Lil Diva Stamps.  This will be my first post for this wonderful lady and her images!  The digi I used is called Mermaids and can be purchased at The Digital-Ink Co.  yet today at half price. Normally it will sell at $2.50 but if you pop on over you can still get it today at $1.25. The package comes with 4 silhouettes of mermaids and all you have to do is print them to make a stunning card.

On my kreation I used my PSP and took the background and then placed my mermaids into it.  This can also be done in Word or Open Office. I then took a brayer and inked it up and brayered a piece of glossy cardstock with a Big and Juicy stamp pad called waterfall before printing everything onto the cardstock. You have to make certain that the background is dry before printing or it will gum up your printer. After printing I had to let all the ink dry since I have an ink jet and not a laser printer.  Once all was dry I took my copics and highlighted certain areas of my background and then made a frame and placed a few dew drops on the bubbles,  to add some dimension. This was a bit time consuming but I did like the end product.

I hope you enjoyed!

He Loves Me.......

I wish that was the answer to all of our love questions.  One of my favorite things are daisies so when my wonderful friend Marilyn sent me this sweet image I was just waiting for a chance to get her colored and onto some art.  During the Christmas Holiday I had quite a bit of time in hotels, in cars and just sitting around to color a bunch of images so now my job is to get them onto a piece of art! Isn't it great to see some sunshine in some of the cards being made today!  I love Christmas but you can OD on green and red.
This little beauty was colored with copics and then a splash of stickles were added to her daisy.  It was hard not to go wild on the sparkle but I held back.  I added a couple of bows and a spacer inside some flowersoft into her bright yellow daisy on the side of the card.  I don't think this particular Tilda was meant for a Valentine but I think that is what she will be.

Digital-Ink Co Challenge

Hello Friends!  It is time for another challenge at Digital-Ink Co. and we are celebrating New Beginings! With this challenge this will be the end of the 2009 Design Team and we will have a New Beginning here too. On 1/5/2010 a new team will start there duties and the next challenge will not start until 1/25/10.  This will give them time to acclimate and get the most exciting and wonderful creations ready for you!  I have a few digi images this week to share with you and am I excited!!!!! First off I have the lovely Lil Diva digi stamp called Bella Ballerina normally priced at $2.50 but available until the end of the month at half price. She is dancing through time and into 2010.

I made a side step card for this one and you can get the tutorial here. I colored the image with copics and used some stickles to make her tutu sparkle! The background paper was a glittery silver so I wanted to keep everything else pretty simple and clean.  I think she is a charmer!

My second digi stamp from Digital-Ink Co. this week is from the Super Stitchy Stamps called Bucky Bronco. This sweet image is available until the end of the month again at 50% off, at the price of $1.50.

This time I decided to make a spring card. You can find the tutorial right here. This was a pleasure to create. I decided to make the Bronco able to kick with a touch of your finger so I put  him on a brad and put it between the two peices of card stock.  By touching the image you can move him up and down to give a kick. This way he really is kickin' up a celebration!  By just removing the 2010 this could be used for any type of celebration!  I think he is a hoot and realy liked how he turned out!

The last image I used this week from Digital-Ink Co. is from the marvelous M & M Designz. Do you know that stands for Mom and Me.  Isn't that a wonderful sentiment.  The digi stamp I was honored to work with was Vintage Hat & Girl. Once again normally priced at $3.00 but until the end of the month can be purchased at $1.50.  This image is beautiful and made me think about remembering our past as we look forward to our future.

On this creation I tried to make it look very old to stay with the feel of the image.  I used pale gold DP and stamped a background of a letter on the front.  I used copics and chalk to color the girl. I then took some flowers and feathers to adorne her stunning millery. I distressed the edges with gold and walnut ink. The sentiment was made on my computer. I made this one a Tri-shutter card and the tutorial can be found here. To fill the spaces inside the card I stamped some small images of old antiques. Please forgive the picture. The chair I took the picture of the open card on, has a slant so the card looks like it is crooked. I guarantee it is straight!

I think she turned out just lovely! Very refined and elegant!

Now it is your turn to hop on over to Digital-Ink Co. Challenge blog, for a chance to win the prizes,

link your creation with Mr. Linky and show us what you got! This challenge will run for one week instead of the normal two week. I know it will be MARVELOUS!!!!!!!

My new beginning resolution this coming year is to " Have more patience with everyone" as I have grown older I have realized that I have grown more cynical at times. I also need to apreciat what I have been given in the past before always looking to the future. I need to correct that and also loose about 50 lbs. Make certain you check out the other KREATIVE  Design Team Members creations. Their blogs are linked on the side of my blog!

Scrap Book Pages

Yes I scrap book! I didn't want you all to think that I am only a card maker. I have been crafting as far back as I can remember and that is pretty darn far......... Sorry was still thinking back that far!  My Mom always had some kind of craft in her hands and I have always loved Art so out of the 4 girls in my home I was the only one that followed form and took up crafting. Give me the challenge and I will find a way to make it!  Grant it, it may not be a Picasso but it is a KymKreates!

When my Grandson was to be born my daughter, (her first born)  had asked me to make some pages for her to start a scrap book so I of course got to work on it. She was in the Navy at the time and did not have much time since she was a bit busy defending our Country, I felt obliged to hop to it and dove in.  She had wanted it to be Winnie the Pooh so I decided to do some Paper Piecing. Wanted to let you know that there are no stickers on these pages at all.  Enough said, here they are and I will post more later after I take more pictures. Side note - I am not responsible for the pictures in the layout!!!!!! I took a few out and so some areas are blank. Some I think she super glued in place!

This is a Halloween one I did with bouncing Tiger!
Isn't he boingy?

Next was Thanksgiving or Turkey Time! Winnie was dressed up as a Turkey on this one!

Last but not least we had Tubby Time. Bathtime fun with Winnie laying in his bubble bath.

I made a little shaker box on this one too with blue seed beads.

Thanks for giving a look! Like I said I have a few more to show.  I just have to get the pictures taken.

Happy Birthday Shawn!!!

Do you ever have one of those days when someon you know asks you at the very last minute to make a card for them????  Well my daughter is good for that.  She is living with the Father of her 6 month baby and it is his birthday.  Last night she calls me and says with her little girl voice MOM please will you make not one but two cards for me?  See she has two kids from her previous marriage and they also live with them.  Their Father and I use that term very lightly lives in Louisianna. Anyway I digress, Shawn is great with the kids and she wanted a special card for him but not one that said Father or Daddy.  I came up with this one!

I called it Super Shawn and once you read the verse I put inside you will understand why.  Her is a close up of Super Shawn.
I wanted the card to thank him for all the things he does to make their life special, so thank goodness for a computer and a printer you can make any sentiment you want and here is what his card says.

I am thinking he will be touched when he reads it!

Now I did say that she asked for two cards! The other one is from his 6 month old son. I used a image that I had on hand from Mo's cuz it had Bronte on it and they have the same dog!

In the inside of this one I simply put - I love you sooo much I will even share my cookie with you! I am not certain he will go for that since the dog is doing that too.

Even though she asked me at the last minute to make these for her and would have preferred a bit more notice.  It was well worth my time to make them for a young man who has given my Grand children so much love and care, even those that are not his children.

So from the bottom of my heart!!! Happy Birthday Shawn!!!!!!

Love,

Happy New Year!!!!

Should old aquaintenence be forgot!!!!! Ok I can't really sing!!! but I bet this little guy can.  I got this digi image as a freebie on Splendid Stamping from The Greeting Farm. I think if you go there he is still available. I thought he was just too cute not to use.

I pulled some sheet music for the oldie but goodie Auld Lang Syne and printed it out to use as my background.  I wanted to keep him all black and white.  To match the music I used a bit of dotted DP, have no idea where I got it since I have had it for eons. Colored him with my copics and gave his top hat, eyes and champagne glass a coating of crystal effects to shine them up a bit.  I made my bow with my bow easy. Wow that thing is like magic!!!!!! If you are interested in learning about it you can watch a tutorial by Suzanne Dean here.  This filled the empty space.  A simple but sweet card to ring in 2010!!!!!!

Lucia Gift Certificate Holder

Ok I know I told you yesterday I was done with Christmas!!! I guess that is why I should never show my hubby what I make.  After showing him the gift card holder for our nephew he said I should make something for Grandma.  Grandma is in her 80's and living on a fixed income. She has about everything she could possibly want but every Sunday after church her and her girlfriends get together and go to a restraunt and have breakfast so for Christmas we get her a gift certificate to the place she goes.  That way she can continue to go and she doesn't have to worry about where the money is going to come from.

I wanted to make it pretty so I used the Lucia stamp that again my buddy Lisa Cook gave me images of.  I am so thankful that Lisa was my Secret Santa this year!!! She blessed me with sooooooo much.  Anyway, I know that traditionally Lucia is suppose to have a white dress but I love pink so and had to change that a bit.  You will see this in many of my posts.  I am not such a princess but like the color pink on girl images.  I used a bit of stickles on her dress and on the candle to of course glitz her up!!!!! On her wreath of flowers in her hair I chose to use flowersoft instead of coloring with my copics like I did on the rest of the image.  I used my cricut to cut the swirl sitting behind her the cartridge was Stretch Your Imagination. Also my MS double loop punch to give the scallop edge.  I just know that Grandma will adore it!

Gift Card Holder For My Nephew

My hubby and I have a neice and nephew that we see at Christmas and we give gift cards to. Now I posted a few back the pillow box that I made for my niece and I had to come up with something for my nephew too. He is still little and believes so I thought that the image of Santa that my friend Lisa Cook gave me from the Magnolia stamps would be perfect.  While I was at it I figured I would enter this little guy into a few challenges.  I will get to listing them later.

Since this will probably be the last Christmas project I make I made a large Christmas bulb on my cricut and put Santa on it like a tag.  I made two of these so I can enter it seperately into another challenge.I colored Santa with my copics and made his presents in his sack all different colors.  I didn't want to glitz it up too much but I couldn't resist giving some sparkle with some stickles on the presents and in his beard.  The fur on his sleaves and cap is flocked to appear real and fuzzy and his boots, belt buckle and ribbons on the presents got a coat of crytal effects.  I took my good old gel pen and colored the top of the ornament. A bit of ribbon to tie the holder together and at the top of the ornament and he was done.

You Make My Heart Sing!!!!!!!

When I saw these little image at Stretch N Bubbles called Chick LOVE for a mere $2.50 I immediately thought of a Valentine. You know it will creep up on us faster than we think.  Now I know we automatically think of PINK and HEARTS when we think of that date in February but I wanted to do something a bit different.  I guess I sometimes tend to march to the beat of my own drummer.  I right away thought of my sentiment and looked for the sheet music to go with that. I search through all of the challenges going on and Handfull of Stamps had green as their color challenge.  Now you think we would be sick of green after Christmas but I chose a lighter softer green and I flew with it (pardon the pun).

As I said I first printed my sheet music as background and then found some soft green polka dotted paper which was the challenge this week at Daring Cardmakers. I followed a sketch for the challenge at Polly Craft. I used my MS punch to get the scalloped edge for the soft green paper next to the ribbon. I needed to have some pearls on my card for the All Sorts Challenge so I took some wire and strungs some up and curled them into my ribbon which I needed to have on my creation for Nutshells challenge.  I also added stickles to my chicks wings and my ribbon to make them sparkle which was needed for the challenge at Kraftin Kimmie. You have to know that sparkle is almost my signature!!! Now you know I have pearls, well I think I consider them also as beads, I added 3 more across the top of my card and added this to the Cute Card Thursday challenge. I guess I killed two birds with one stone on that one.  Opps sorry birdies didn't mean you two!!!!  Etsy Inspired Challenge always asks you to get inspired by something on their website and this week is no different.  I chose this item.
It is a picture piece of jewelry of a tiny bird. Kinda made me think of these great little Chicks In Love from the talented Alison at Stretch N Bubbles.

I colored the sweet image in with copics, yep no chalk at all this time.  There is a bit of flower soft in the middle of the flower on her head.  I liked the way it softened the look.

The last challenge I entered with this piece of art.  Yes there is 1 more was Creative Card Crew - create anything.

I hope I inspired you to Kreate.

Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Holiday Frenzy!!!

Our challenge for this time around was to create a tag, card, gift bag, box or anything else we might make as a last minute gift of course using one of the images from one of the marvelous talented designers at The Digital-Ink Co.  My choice was Tonz of Fun image designed by Stamp'en with CJ.  Isn't she adorable.  All the digi's are on sale right now at 50% off so she is available for $1.13.  What a deal! She could be used for many occasions.

I decided to make a last minute gift of a luminary for my Holiday Frenzy. You can get the tute here.  I adjusted the size to fit my image. I ended up using a complete piece of 12 X 12" cardstock. I placed vellum in the ovals.

I colored Ethyl, I named my elephant Ethyl, with chalk and highlighted her with copics.  The image has these little feathery hairs on her head so I went with that as inspiration and used both pink and black feathers on her head and as a background. Topped that off with a bright pink bow. I also added a few pink crystal gems to make her dazzle and give her some bling.

She got a pedi and mani with some cotton candy stickles to match the cording on her dress. The last thing was to wrap the top with matching pink ribbon and add a couple of pink crystal flowers.

Ethyl was added to opposite sides of the luminary so she can be seen from every angle.  Since this is a paper product I bought one of the new Glade no light candles and put it inside.

((((((DO NOT PUT A LIT CANDLE INSIDE))))))))

I hope I inspired you to Kreate and join the challenge! It starts today December 14th and ends December 26th. Pop on over to Digital-Ink Co. Challenge Blog and let your inner artist imerge!

There will be prizes worth over $50.00 to be given.
Doesn't that sound GREAT?
