When dreaming up my little piece of art the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this image called Frosty In A Stocking was Frosty was so cold that he had hopped into the stocking to warm up!!! Maybe it was just me who was trying to warm up since it is a blistery negative 2 degrees as I write to you all. The size of this card is 5.75 x 5.75 which has become my standard size.
I chose my colors from the designer paper I used so the colors of my cardstock followed suit, all items from my stash. You wouldn't believe how much stash I have collected. Just ask my hubby!
After I started coloring the image with my copics I thought Frosty could have been used for an arrival of a new bundle of joy by just changing the sentiment. Something to think about!!! Anyway I colored with copics and chalks. I like to work with chalk, especially when I want to help soften the colors. Q-tips have become my best friend for this application.
I used both frosted lace and cotton candy stickles on the image and the snowflakes on the patterned paper for some sparkle. Got to have that glitz. What is a card with out some sparkle and glitz?????? I am sometimes better known as the Glitter Fairy!! Frosty's hat and branches received a nice coating of crystal effects to make them shine. The fur on the mitten has been flocked to add a bit more dimension and give the appearence of real fur. I then pop dotted the image to make it stand out.
I cut the sentiment out on my cricut using two different cartridges. Thanks to my friend Sharon for that idea. The cartridges I used were George and Jasmine. They also got a little coating of stickles. More sparkle....... The fibres and buttons were also a part of my stash. I enjoy using many different kinds of techniques on one piece of art. I think it helps with the 3D dimensional apeal. Isn't he just adorable?????
I thought this card could be used all winter long, for many different reasons or just because. I hope I have Inspired You to Kreate.
