Singing In The Rain.......

Since it is almost April and after all April Showers bring May flowers this would be a fitting image and post!!!   Today The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring the challenge over at The Creative Belli Blog and the theme is color spray. Well that was a tough one for me since I am a novice at this.  I got my new Shimmer paints out and my old blow pens and gave it a whirl.  This is what I came up with.

I used the shimmer on the pages of an old hymnal for the sheet music and then I used a tutorial from Mercy which can be found here to make my puffy flower. I used the same shimmer paint in two different shades of blue on the flower and used the same pages from the old hymnal.  I was so pleased with how it turned out.  I wanted my background paper to look like rain so I got my old blow pens out and used that on it.  I was on a roll.  I colored with copics and added a bit of glossy accents to the water, stickles here and there and a few dew drops and a computer generated sentiment with the font Evertime I Miss You and she was ready for her audition with Gene Kelly.

Isn't she just the cutest???

So darn proud of my flower!!!

Copic Colors: skin: E00,E02
The rest: RV00, R81, YV03, YG03, YG09, YG15, Y11, B00, B12,

Inspiration.......Field of Dandelion Flowers

Normally I do not enter challenges that you have to look at a picture and then Kreate your project around the inspiration of a picture BUT when my good friend Harriet saw this challenge at Paper Sundaes she immediately told me about it and we both thought it was perfect for me.  Why you ask???????  Well the winner of this challenge will win 2 Sweet Pea stamps from ching-chou kuiks Fantasy Art collection.  That was enough inspiration for me.  If you have been following my blog you know this has become my latest passion!!! So here is my entry!!

What do you think? All the dots around her in yellow and on the butterflies in black and red were done with puffy paint.  The jurry is still out on these but I wanted to give my project dimension so it was worth a try! Another angle perhaps to help with your judgement????

To kreate the dandelion heads I took some of that fuzzy, fringy yarn and tied it in a knot 5 times and then colored it just a touch with my copics.  Gave it a hair cut and glued it onto my Cricut cut stems,  from my Home Accents cartridge. I just adore this cartridge!! Glossy accents and stickles were added to her lantern to give it a glow!
How about a close up of our beauty!!!!

I of course colored her with copics and then chalked her background.  A few more stickles were added to her dress, the wings of the butterflies, the swirls and the frame around her. I also put glossy accents on her eyes. A few gems added the final touch.  I hope you enjoyed my interpritation of the inspiration picture.

I Am So Very Blessed To Know Sandra......

I have met so very many people on this wonderful medium but what started out as a simple question on her blog has become a treasured friendship.  I have been blessed to have Sandra or many of you know her as RosePetal as my friend.  Now chances are we will never meet since she lives on the OTHER side of the pond but friends we are never the less.

Never a post do I make that I do not see a comment on my Kreation from my dear friend and as do I see her comments on many other peoples blogs around the net.  I do not see how she manages to get any creating of her own done but that she does and lovely at that.  Anyway I received from my dear friend a present yesterday.  Not the first one I have recieved since she actually has sent me one before in the mail but this one is for my blog.  I am so very touched that she chose to give this to me.  So with a very touched heart I want to say thank you my dear friend!!!

Now I believe with this award I am to tell you 10 things about myself!
1) I met my husband on AOL
2) I enjoy watching Formula One Racing
3) I Can NOT cook
4) I LOVE to dance

OK now you know a few more things about me.  Things that have nothing to do with making cards.  I now have to pass this on to people that inspire me.  Oh my gosh their are so many deserving people but here goes:

A couple of these people may not even know me but their work is such an inspiration to me that I want them to get this award! I promise I will comment on your work as often as I look at it!

Innocence of Children.......

I have been so very blessed to have 13 yes I said 13 (Ok my children are like Rabbits) healthy and happy Grandchildren.  I had my children very very young!!! hahaha  Anyway my very good friend Judy is opening her new store
The Digi Doodle Shop on April 1st and one of the services that she is going to have is CUSTOM STAMPS!!!! Now you ask what this is??? I am going to tell you.  A while back she IM'd me and asked me for a picture of my granddaughter and my response of course was which one? I have 7 of them!!!! I scanned a few pictures of them and sent them over to her.  To my very happy surprise this is what I received back.  Now I am going to show you in the order of the progression.

My sweet Dolly Alexa!!!!!

Judy's custom stamp immortalizing her!!!

The card I made with my brand new custom stamp.

A close up of my little dolly!!!

I tell you my daughter was flabbergasted when she saw this.  Alexa will have this forever and this is something we will have shared!!!! It brought tears to my eyes when I saw how wondrous it turned out!!!!  Now I know everyone reading this will want to get over there and check out how to get one of your own.  Judy has also done a couple of them for my dear friend Harriet of her dogs.  She has captured their spirit to a T.  All you have to do is go to The Digi Doodle Shop and on the top right hand side click on Custom Stamp Examples.  The first 50 customers will be entered into a drawing for one of there very own.  Remember the store opens April 1st.  No foolin!!!  Also please join us the very same day for our first challenge at Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge Blog!

Now I have to give some equal time to Alexa's older brother Kyle.  He has just turned 5 on December 24th and has started wrestling for his school this past month.  He is in K4.  He had a wrestling meet last night and pinned his first opponent!!!

Look at the size difference.  He is the short one!!!

Kind of a dark picture but that is him on top.  I am so very proud of him.  I do not normally put pictures of the kids on my blog but I just could not resist since I am bursting my buttons!!!

Springtime Birthday Sweet Pea!

OK they got me hook, line and sinker!!!! I just adore these images.  As many of you know one of my favorite things to do is color!  I tend to say I never quite outgrew my box of crayons, they just cost more now!!!  Well the Sweet Pea images just lend themselves to people who enjoy coloring!!!!

This one is I believe is called "It's My Birthday" Can you see the birthday cupcake in her hand? I couldn't decide what view to show you so you are going to get them all.

Just the fact that most of the images are fairies. As you know I have a thing for anything that has wings. The green circles are suppose to mimic the scales on her tail. I know that she is not a spring card but with her butterfly wings and the bright colors she looks pretty springy to me. One more view for you!!!

I colored this beauty with my copics and unfortunately I forgot in my excitement to write down the colors. Let me tell you I used a whole bunch of pinks, purples, greens and aqua's!  To shadow her skin I used my W1 which I find I am really liking. What do you all think?  I used my cricut cartridge "home accents" to cut the corners and butterflies, the middle punch was MS double loop.  I used liquid pearls on all the dots on the image and on the corners for dimension.  Stickles all over the place. I wanted her to sparkle!!!!! I also put glossy accents on the glow behind her candle before I stickled it. A few gems here and there and she was ready for her debut!

Easter Egg Hunting......

Today The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring the challenge at The Easy Crafts Projects  Blog and the theme was Easter.  Now I have colored my fair share of bunnies this season so I wanted to do something different.  I came up with Easter Egg Hunting!!! I hope you like!

I first made 3 eggs out of some bright primary colors and then placed AJ upon some coordinating ribbon. The green DP was suppose to give you the idea of grass.  I of course colored AJ with copics but did this a while back and did not keep track of the colors I used.  Glazed his tennies and just a touch of stickles on his shirt.  To make the eggs stand out a bit and not look flat I pulled out my handy dandy chalks and gave them some depth.  A bit of white highlites and wala!!!! An Easy Craft Project!!!!!!

Certified Inspector.......

Hello it is time for another challenge from Sew Many Cards.  This week we had to make an Easter project and use punches!!!  We are also so please to have Wags N Whiskers as our sponsor.  Here is a little bit about our sponsor.

I was a stay-at-home mom for 7 years so stamping was a great way for some “Mommy time”. But after stamping for over 2 years, my hobby became my obsession…so my obsession became my dream! Now I own an on-line store!

Stamp and Create is a new on-line store carrying many popular brands of stamps, paper, and embellishments including: Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber Stamps, High Hopes Stamps, Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps, Whiff of Joy, Stampavie, Penny Black, The Greeting Farm, Basic Grey, 7

Gypsies, Shimmerz, Nestabilities (always 20% off!!), charms and more!! I am always adding new items to the store…so check it out at www.stampandcreate.com

For my project I chose to use Cami and the boy.  The flower in the upper right hand corner was made with a scallop circle punch as well as all the circles.  I wanted to keep the mood light on my card so I added the sweet little saying. I followed the sketch from the Pink Elephant. It was different and thought it was fitting.

I colored him in with copics and colors are as follows:
Skin: E00, E02
Shirt and Tie: V12, V15, V09, BV00
Pants: C3, C5
Vest and Shoes: W1, W3, W5, 100
Basket: E21, E33, E25, E17, E47
Flowers: R39, RV19, RV14
Cami: Y17, Y15, Y11
Boy's Hair: Y11, Y08, Y15, E33
Stickles: Frosted Lace and Yellow
Glaze on shoes: Crystal Effects (Stampin' Up)

I hope you will join us at Sew Many Challenges and show us your punched up Easter projects!

Enchantment Blog Hop - The Stamping Boutique......

Hello everyone and welcome to The Stamping Boutique's release and blog hop for the new line of Enchantment Series.  Tracey has drawn some beauties for us and we are so excited to show them off!

Now if you are one of my wonderful visitors I am as always thankful, but I do not want you to miss a thing so please start at the begining which is Tracey's terrific blog!!! If you came here from Lorie's lucious blog you are in the right place.

My project was made with the stamp called In Bloom.  Isn't she just gorgeous????? Like she was just born from the bloom of the flower.  I colored her with my copics and then added tranparent glitter to her wings.  I added bits of stickles to the flower and her dress.  To complte the image and the card I used my gold gel pen to place the gold dots and stars that Tracey draws on her image all over my project.  The branch and flowers were done on my cricut. The DP is from S.E.I. and was the inspiration for my color scheme.

Now it is off to see what magic Mary has in store for you.  I have put the list of everyone in the hop in case you get lost.  Have a magical ENCHANTED time!!!

The Stamping Boutique will have all stamps on sale at 40% off during the blog hop and the winner will get an unrelease stamp featured on Tracey's blog.

Mom, Remember When........

It is another SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY here on my blog and we are so happy to have
Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor.  If you have never checked out this line you just have to.  They have some of the sweetest to the funniest stamps around.  The winner of this weeks challenge will get SEVEN digital stamps!!!!

Now every Sketch challenge needs a sketch and we have a yummy one once again!

Our own Arlana creates thses every week for us. Isn't it just scrumptious???

Now I have not made many little boy cards and I have made a mental note and told many of people that I was going to change that.  I chose this cute little cowboy. I thought about all the grown men and how when they were small and played cowboy, so I decided to make it a Mother's Day card.  The front says Mom, Remember When... and when you open it!

I was your little cowboy!!!  Now I rarely show the insides of my cards but I do decorate them too.

I did quite a bit of layering on this card and hopefully you can see some of it on this picture. The fence, his cowboy hat, and arms are all layered and popped up to give it a 3D look.  The background was done with chalk and of course I colored him in with my copics.  Now what would a cowboy with be with out his badge so he got his metal star to finish it off. I didn't write down what copics I used since I had this one colored for a couple of weeks and all the DP came from my stash so I have no idea what brand they are. I hope you have enjoyed my little guy and give a try at our wonderful sketch!!! Come on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see what my sister DT members have whipped up for you!!!! You will not be dissappointed.
