Ice Skating ........

I am so syked right now and bursting my buttons and it is not from overeating!!! LOL!!! I finally after many months of searching will be starting back to work on Monday!!!!  My hubby is thrilled, let me say this has been a contention between us lately!!!

Today I want to share with you a sweet little gal that is out shopping via her ice skates! What a cute idea!!! If I were a better skater I might try this myself!!! My luck the dog would take off and be dragging me on the ice behind him!!!!!

I colored my Lili of The Valley stamp named "Skating Along" with my copics.  I wanted the ice to look like ice so I gave it 3 layers of clear embossing powder and hit it with my heat gun.  The fur on her hat and coat is coated with Fun Flock and a bit of stickles on the edges to look like snow.  The snowflakes were cut 4 times on my cricut, doubled up and then got their own dose of stickles as well as the frame around my image.  You know how much I love my sparkle!!!!!  Lace to soften and a few gem stones finished my Kreation!!!!

Exotic Halloween.....

Hello all.  I am so excited with all the people that are visiting for the Sweet Pea blog hop!!! Aren't the new artist just great????  This is one of the very first Sweet Pea stamps that I ever got and have been waiting to showcase her.  Her name is "Exotic Halloween by ©ching-chou kuik".  I think she is a sumptuous way to celebrate Halloween. She can be purchased as a single stamp or on a sheet with 3 others.

The challenge this next two weeks at "In A Sweet Pea Dream" is to use the colors
in your project somewhere.  It does not have to be a Halloween card and when you visit the challenge blog you will see that some of the DT have created projects with these colors that have nothing to do with the holiday! A $7.00 gift card will be given to the winner.

As most often I have colored my lovely with copics and then added stickles to parts of the image, got to have the sparkle!!  The glow of her candles got a nice thick coating of Glossy Accents.  My background was done with a Versa Mark pad and chalk. I used a technique for highlighting her that I saw on one of my blogging buddies posts. I loved the look and want to give her full credit for the idea,  Mustavcoffee of Crafty Musings. I took a double sided piece of DP and decided where I wanted my picture to pop out and started cutting down to the center.  After, I took each cut and an eyelet and adhered them to each other.  I left a bit of a loop on each one to give depth! I also took some crinkly seam binding ribbon that I made and whipped up the green and purple flower.

I think it kept the softness of this exquisite beauty!!!

Kym - YOU ARE HERE

I am proud to introduce you to Remy from Brigid Ashwood's Phunky Phairie Series Plate #74!!!  I think he is the quintessential young boy!!!!  Don't you just love his dreads and see the hacky sack by his feet.  He does have a soft side, with the Sweet teddy bear in his bag.

I colored him with copics and then added just a touch of glitter on the teddy bears wings, the bubbles and a spec on his wings.  Even on a boy I had to add some sparkle, after all he is a fairy!!! To finish my project off I  added a duo of buttons and a ticket with the sentiment "DREAM" on it!!! He was a pleasure to work with and I am thrilled to add this magnificent stamp and artist to the Sweet Pea family!

Now for the blog candy!!!!

Christmas Shopping.....

Good Day to all!  Well I finished painting my master bathroom yesterday and will be picking up the paint this weekend to tackle our bedroom.  It is a little bit daunting since it has nine foot walls plus another 4 feet of trey ceiling.  I am not quite certain how to paint that portion???????? Any suggestions?  I would love to hear if you have any......

My little sweetie today is Lili of The Valley, James Bear With A Pile of Presents! I have a soft spot for Teddies, I just lust over them.....Isn't he just the cutest?????  Hope he is on his way to bring me that load of presents!

I colored James with my copics and then gave the fur on his hat and the snow at his feet a nice thick coat of Fun Flock!  After that dried I also gave it a bit of stickles, to look like a dusting of snow had been falling and it is glistening all around him.  The ribbons on his load of pressie's also got some stickles. I do love sparkle. Again I used my copics to shade around him, this time B0000, B00 and 0.  I kinda like the way it turned out. He is matted on a couple different DP's that I have had in my stash forever along with some fiber that is probably about 7 years old.  It was frilly and soft and thought it worked.  I also remembered those eyelet snowflakes I had bought about mmmmm 5 years ago and dug 3 of those out.  All and all I was happy with the end result.   What do you think???  Wouldn't you like him to be visiting your house?

Embossing Old School and Farewell........

Hello all my blogging friends!!!!! This week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best we are challenging you to do some embossing! Heat or dry, whichever way you like!  We just need to see embossing somewhere on your card!

With a heavy heart I am also announcing that this will be my last post for Digi Doodle Shop's Best.  After this challenge I will be stepping down from my post as DT Coordinator.  I have truly enjoyed working with the TEAM and Judy and Joy are wonderful to design for!  Be on the lookout for a brand new design team and two new coordinators to keep things fresh and exciting!

My hubby's Uncle has a Birthday coming up in the next few weeks and when I saw this glorious image that Joy drew I just knew that I had to Kreate with it and make his card.  The stamp is called "Old Man Fishing" I hope he is not offended by the title!!! He does love to fish and I thought it would be magical.

I colored him with my copics and then started playing with my embossing powders! It has been ages since I have used them and I have so many! First his hat, pants and the edges of the dog got a coat of clear powder.  That wasn't enough!!!!!  I wanted the pond to really look like glass so first of all I took some glassy accents and made some squiggles in it.  After that dried I took my versa mark pen and colored the entire pond and laid a thick layer of clear powder on it and once again to the heat gun I went.  I did this two more times until it had a nice thick glass like appearance. Stickles were added to the grasses to give that sparkle and I added the background and foreground with my chalks.  As the last bit, I took a part of a fishing lure and tied some bright aqua feathers on it and put a brad through it to fasten onto my fish DP.  It was kinda fun to go back to OLD SCHOOL and play again with my embossing powders and heat gun!!!

I printed a sentiment for the inside that reads
" Fishing is much more than casting and retrieving and playing your catch. It's the wind in your face, and the sound of wakening birds as the sun peeks over the horizon. It's discovering the magic in each new place and unlocking the mysteries that lurk there."
Enjoy!!!
Have A Happy Birthday!

So won't you pop on over and join us and try your hand at the challenge. Don't forget to check out the Digi Doodle Shop. You will not beleive all the new stamps that have been added. If you do not keep checking back you will miss sooooooo much!!!  The winner of the challenge will get a $10.00 gift certificate to use at the shop!

Trick or Treat.....

Well I just walked outside to take the garbage out and on this first day of Autumn it is actually warm out. Go figure! Yesterday we turned on the heat and today I will be opening windows!!!!

While looking at blogs and picking up some freebies I came across this little darling on the Rusty Pickle.  I just thought he was the cutest little thing.  I have a soft spot for my Teddy Bears so I decided to make a card with him.  My hubby states I need to expand and use more of my images so this is at his request!

I colored him with my copics and actually tried something new. I did the shading around him too, rather than using chalks.  I need some practice but I did like the way it turned out! I used C00, C1, C3 and O. The original did not have the spots on his little dog suit but I thought he looked like a Dalmatian since he was sitting next to a fire hydrant so I added them. The trick or treat bag and hydrant got a nice thick coating of glossy accents to make them shine and the candy and pumpkin got stickled! You know how I love sparkle!  My background paper was made with a piece of white card stock, my stamp pad and a stamp from Stampin' Up that I have had for eons.  I just randomly stamped the dog paw onto the card stock. I distressed the edges of my cut out puppy with my handy dandy scissors (note to self - need to get a distressing tool), added some orange ribbon and made a cute little ticket from some that my lovely friend Doreen sent me (thanks again) to finish the look!

Kitsune Fox Fairy.....

Happy Monday everyone!!  I have been sooo busy lately painting the inside of my house.  I am working my way through the entire house room by room.  Now you have to understand we have a 4 bedroom house so that is allot of rooms.  I just hate the paint that the builders use when they build a house. Feels like chalk and you can not wipe it down at all.  I have lots of Grandkids and they always have their hands on the walls so that is a big problem. I can say that I have finished the kitchen, great room, living room and downstairs powder room plus a hallway and the landing or stairway going down to our basement.  Today I start with the master bath!!! Enough babbling!

I am here to show you another lovely from Elaine Cox's Art Collection called "Kitsune Fox Fairy" Many of you know my husband is half Korean and I am drawn to anything with the Oriental flavor.  I guess that is why I picked him!!! Hahaha! When I saw this beauty I knew I had to ink her up and KREATE!  You can buy her as a single stamp or on a sheet with 3 other stamps and two sentiments at none other than Sweet Pea Stamps!

I love to follow sketches and this time I used a sketch that was designed by my good friend Pascale at  Sweet Pea Stampers!  I colored my sweet girl with my copics in Fall colors since we are fast approaching and then added gold pen to various areas as highlights.  Stickles of course were dabbed here and there! I also used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on their wings. Glossy accents were put on her eyes, mouth and the moon. My background was done with pastel chalks.  My flowers are from Prima and instead of printing a sentiment I hung a charm I had for ages as one from the flowers! I hope that will still count for the sketch!!! To finish it off pearl buttons were added to the corners!
