One of my favorite sayings has always been "The eyes are the windows to your soul" I am always attracted to someones eyes!!!! I adore the color of my husbands eyes. I have never seen anyone with the same color as his. Anyway when I got to coloring my Blue Eyed Fairy from Sweet Pea Stamps I knew I wanted that saying to be the focus of my project. I also love the color green so this is where I started.
Now at first I thought she should have green eyes but I started coloring everything else in green so that was out of the question so I stuck to her name and gave her piercing blue eyes!
I printed the sentiment as a frame around my image and then doodled a bit in between the words. I wanted to create my own DP so I got my brayer out and a big and juicy stamp pad and went across some white card stock. I then dug for some of my stampscape stamps and started stamping the branches. I liked the effect it gave. Kind of dark and mysterious. I pulled out some gold embroidery floss I have had forever and criss crossed behind her. The little butter flies are tiny little stamps from Hero Arts. A few gems here and there and she was finished. I colored her with my copics and here are the colored I used:
Skin: E00, E02, E000, W1
The rest of her: R08, YG03, YR04, B00, B24, Y11, G09, Y15
Stickles: yellow and eucalyptus
glossy accents on her eyes
