How I long to be this much in love when Michael and I are this age. That is what I was thinking the whole time I was coloring this beautiful stamp from this weeks sponsor for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Yes it is non other than the talented Maurie J. Manning of Mo's Digital Pencil Too.
I know most of you have seen her images all over but if this is the first time, please take a moment and check all of the wonderful artwork this woman has to offer. You will be amazed that one person could be so talented. We are lucky to be able to offer a $10.00 gift code to the winner of this weeks challenge.
Once again we have a lovely sketch by our own Arlana to follow. It really is beautifull when finished and gives off a floral feeling.
I colored my image called Young Love with copics and my pallet was chosen by the couple of birds sitting on the park bench. I looked up what love birds looked like and tried to emulate the colors through out my image. Also while I was coloring I thought of my Grandparents and remembered how they dressed. How my Grandma never really matched and wore those God awful orthopedic shoes. Anywho, that was the inspiration and all and all I was quite please with the finished product. To keep with the old look I put some ecru lace around my image instead of a paper ruffle. I liked the touch it gave. The sentiment also had meaning for me. The word Always was something that my Mom and Dad always signed everything they sent to each other with. It was their song. "I'll be loving you, ALWAYS" So this whole Kreation became quite sentimental to me. So I hope to see you over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and then you can share your kreation and story with me.

Kym, what a gorgeous card. I know what you mean about this image and about hoping me/my husband are like this in 20 years' plus time. We'll have been married 19 years come this July which is good innings for "our generation" here in the UK as a lot of my friends at school were married but have now divorced and some have re-married. Best wishes from your name-sake in the UK (by the way is Kym spelt like this popular in the States as Kim is common here but I've never come across a Kym before!!) Take care, Kym xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is a fab image and I love what you said about your grandma not matching - that's so funny because when I'm home and no one is nearby, I could care less what matches! HaHA, senior moments, senior days - fine with me. ;D You colored these images so beautifully, Kym. I adore that lace as soon as I saw it! The papers are so lovely and tranquil. Great card! ;D
